Finding my Voice

For this episode, writers Patricia Cumper and Pauline Walker are joined by novelist and journalist Diana Evans.

A portrait of Black novelist and journalist Diana Evans. She has shoulder length hair and is wearing a maroon jacket, blue shirt and blue scarf.

Diana talks about how she started writing novels, juggling her twin careers as both a novelist and journalist, her writing process and winning awards. She also talks about her childhood and being inspired by that one writer that turned her onto writing.

It was a childhood full of opposites and dichotomies, cultural dichotomies, and I think that all impacted on who I’ve become as a writer.
